Yahoo messenger converts my calls to an international call, how do I stop this?

Posted 17th May 2009 | One Comment

I live in Texas. When ever I call a local (
United States) phone number, the system is adding 49 to the beginning. My last 4 calls went to somewhere in Germany. I apologize if I woke anyone up.

LOL well at least you are polite. Hard to answer your question without knowing how you are trying to make the call. If you are using messenger to 'call a phone number' I believe you do not enter a 1, just the area code and number (for within US). I can't remember if when you sign up you tell yahoo where you are dialing from. If the above still doesn't work you might check that. I mean if you accidentally told yahoo at 'call signup' you were from UK and not US it might think you are dialing from overseas to the US???
